Weekend Number Two in the Books!

Ohio University represented at two regional tournaments over Halloween Weekend. Mary Pittman traveled to the University of Iowa while Sean Butler and Ben Strunk headed to the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.

Mary made the 11 hour drive to Iowa City to serve on the All-Tournament Committee at the NIRSA Flag Football Regional at the University of Iowa. She fought through a cold weekend to help improve the quality of the tournament in many different aspects.

Meanwhile, Sean Butler and Ben Strunk drove nine hours the opposite direction to the University of North Carolina-Wilmington for the ACIS Flag Football Regional. Sean served on the Officials Committee and helped evaluate the officials at the tournament. Ben had an excellent tournament as an official. He worked field judge in the Womens Final and referee in the Mens Final. He was recognized as an All-Tournament Official and received a bid to the ACIS National Championships at the University of West Florida at the end of the year.

Ohio University officials will take a break this weekend then focus on the nearby Ohio State regional tournament Nov. 9-11. Doug Vinci and Mike Scholze will officiate at the tournament and Haley Drometer will serve on the Officials Committee at the tournament!

First Extramural Tournament of the Year!!!!

The first extramural flag football tournament is in the books for Ohio University officials. Sean Butler, Bob Schlueter, and Ashley Ebaugh traveled to the University of Florida last weekend for the annual Swamp Bowl State Flag Football Tournament in Gainesville. Assistant Director of Intramural and Club Sports Mary Pittman also served as the Chair of the All-Tournament Committee.

All three officials were making their debut as Ohio University representatives. Sean was a crew chief throughout the tournament and finished working line judge in a Men's Semi-Final. Bob impressed the evaluators in his first extramural experience and worked a Men's Quarterfinal. Finally, Ashley had an excellent tournament in her first extramural experience and finished as the back judge in the Women's Final.

Ohio will be represented at two tournaments over the coming Halloween weekend. Mary Pittman will head to the University of Iowa to serve on the All-Tournament Committee. Meanwhile, Sean Butler and Ben Strunk will make the drive to the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. Ben will officiate and Sean will serve on the Official's Committee.
