Weekend Brings Home Hardware for Ohio

The biggest regional weekend is in the books for Ohio University flag football officials and staff. Ohio sent officials and staff to four different regionals across the eastern United States.

University of Maryland:

Chris Nocar, Austin Carr, and Sean Butler officiated and Ben Strunk served on the Officials' Committee. All three officials worked long into freezing nights Friday and Saturday. Chris and Austin had excellent first tournaments and were rewarded with quarterfinals. Sean was a crew chief throughout the tournament and worked as back judge in the Mens Final. He was named an All-Tournament Official and earned a bid to the NIRSA National Championships in College Station, TX.

Western Kentucky University:

Jon Corum and Kevin Nye traveled to officiate in Bowling Green, KY. Kevin was a crew chief Friday and Saturday, and Jon had a great first two days. Unfortunately, Sunday was canceled due to flooded fields.

Southern Illinois University

Marshall Frisco officiated and Mary Pittman served on the Officials' Committee. Marshall had an excellent first tournament and was rewarded by working referee of the Co-Ed Final. He was named an All-Tournament Official and received an alternate bid to the NIRSA National Championships at Texas A&M University.

Georgia Southern University

Haley Drometer served on the Officials' Committee at her alma mater.
